About Ms. Anum Khan:

As a Clinical Psychologist and Founder of Psychological Wellbeing Islamabad, my passion lies in making mental health care accessible to everyone, regardless of location. By offering online counseling and therapy services, I aim to provide support to individuals who may face barriers in seeking in-person psychological help.

My journey in mental health began with a strong focus on child protection and community well-being. I started my career with SPARC in Peshawar, working on initiatives to create safe spaces for children and offering psychological support to those in need. This early experience shaped my understanding of the impact of mental health at the grassroots level, and it continues to guide my practice today.

Currently, I work with the Sarhad Rural Support Program (The DUTCH Netherland project), where I provide psychological support to individuals facing challenges like anxiety and depression. I believe that mental health is integral to community well-being, and my goal is to help individuals not only cope but thrive in their environments.

My work has also taken me to roles such as providing psycho-social support with the Pakistan Red Crescent Society and working on outreach programs with Inspire Pakistan, helping refugees and vulnerable populations. Each of these roles has deepened my commitment to using psychology as a tool for empowerment and healing.

In my private practice, I specialize in evidence-based therapies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), tailoring my approach to meet the unique needs of each client. Whether addressing stress, trauma, or everyday mental health concerns, I believe in providing compassionate and personalized care.

Ms. Anum Khan's Expertise:

I have eight years of experience as a Clinical Psychologist with extensive expertise in psychological assessment, psychotherapy, and mental health support. I am proficient in various therapeutic techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). I use these methods to address a wide range of psychological, emotional, and behavioral disorders, developing and implementing tailored treatment plans that focus on the unique needs of each client, helping them achieve their mental health goals effectively.

Throughout my eight-year career, I have gained a strong background in working with multidisciplinary teams in diverse settings, from community-based programs to international humanitarian projects. My work has spanned across child protection, refugee support, and psycho-social care, where I have been instrumental in assessing client needs, providing therapy, and contributing to the rehabilitation of individuals in challenging environments. My dedication to mental health extends beyond traditional settings, as I co-founded Psychological Wellbeing Islamabad to provide accessible online counseling and therapies for those unable to visit physical clinics.

Ms. Anum Khan's Approaches:

  • ☞ In my counseling and therapy sessions, I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors. CBT is highly effective in treating a variety of issues, such as anxiety, depression, and stress-related disorders. By working closely with clients, I guide them in understanding how their thoughts influence their emotions and behaviors, and together we develop strategies to replace unhelpful patterns with healthier, more positive ones.
  • ☞ I also incorporate Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) in my practice, which focuses on helping clients challenge and alter irrational beliefs that lead to emotional distress. Through REBT, I empower clients to recognize and dispute these irrational thoughts, promoting a more rational and adaptive way of thinking. This approach is particularly beneficial for those struggling with self-esteem issues, anger, or anxiety, as it encourages a more balanced and realistic perspective on life’s challenges.
