About Ms. Gulalai Akhtar:

I am a dedicated Clinical Psychologist and regular therapist at the University of Peshawar, where I focus on providing therapeutic support to students and staff. My experience at the university allows me to address a diverse range of mental health issues within an academic setting, promoting well-being and resilience.

In addition to my role at the university, I am the Incharge and Clinical Psychologist at the Bismilah Foundation. Here, I lead initiatives and provide comprehensive mental health services to individuals in need. My responsibilities include overseeing therapeutic programs and ensuring effective mental health support within the community.

I am also a Clinical Psychologist at both the Alkhidmat Foundation and Pukhtoon Khwa Hospital. At these organizations, I work with a broad spectrum of patients, tailoring my approach to meet each individual's unique needs. This multi-faceted experience strengthens my expertise and commitment to supporting mental health in various settings.

Ms. Anum Khan's Expertise:

My expertise lies in a broad range of psychological assessments, therapeutic techniques, and interventions aimed at promoting mental health and well-being. With years of hands-on experience, I specialize in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused therapy, and family counseling, offering tailored approaches to meet individual needs effectively.

I have a strong background in addressing issues related to anxiety, depression, PTSD, and relationship challenges. My work also extends to providing crisis intervention and support for individuals experiencing acute mental health challenges. I use evidence-based practices to foster resilience, personal growth, and emotional stability in my clients.

Additionally, my roles in diverse settings like hospitals, universities, and community organizations have enriched my skills in working with a variety of age groups and backgrounds. This versatility enhances my ability to adapt and provide compassionate, results-driven care that aligns with the specific goals and needs of each client.

Ms. Anum Khan's Approaches:

  • ☞ My approach to therapy is rooted in evidence-based practices that are compassionate, client-centered, and adaptable to each individual’s unique needs. I primarily draw on Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand and reframe negative thought patterns and behaviors. This approach is particularly effective for managing conditions such as anxiety and depression, as it empowers clients to develop healthier coping mechanisms and achieve long-term emotional resilience.
  • ☞ For clients who have experienced trauma, I incorporate Trauma-Focused Therapy, creating a safe and supportive environment where they can process and overcome painful experiences. By carefully addressing trauma-related triggers and responses, I help clients regain control over their emotional responses, enabling healing and personal growth.
  • ☞ Additionally, I am trained in Family and Couples Counseling, working to resolve conflicts, enhance communication, and foster stronger, healthier relationships. By focusing on communication skills and mutual understanding, this approach supports family members or partners in building stronger connections, understanding each other's perspectives, and addressing underlying issues together.
